THOMASVILLE, GEORGIA (USA) - Centek Industries has appointed Martec International of Sweden to distribute the company’s marine environmental products in Sweden and Scandinavia.
Headquartered in Stockholm, Martec International has been supplying boat builders, boatyards and dealers with marine engine systems and related products since 1976.
Centek environmental products include the BilgeKleen™ filtration system to prevent the overboard discharge of oil and fuel. Specially designed to fit a wide range of vessels, the BilgeKleen filter system automatically removes oil, gas, diesel fuel and other hydrocarbon pollutants from bilge water before it is discharged overboard.
The patented system uses a filtering medium that binds to hydrocarbons and allows water to pass through freely. THOMASVILLE, GEORGIA (USA) - Centek Industries, the leading manufacturer of fiberglass wet marine exhaust mufflers and systems, will feature its unique Gen-Kleen™ Wet Exhaust Filtration System at METS (Marine Equipment Trade Show) 2009, November 17-19 in Amsterdam (stand 11.508 at the RAI).
Gen-Kleen eliminates the sheen that appears in the water around a boat when the diesel generator is running on board. The patented system binds hydrocarbons to a filter system and discharges clean water. “Gen-Kleen helps boat owners cruising the Mediterrean and other European waters avoid fines and eviction notices for violations of strict discharge regulations,” said Bill Arwood, Centek Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Centek has installed Gen-Kleen systems in boats and yachts cruising European waters ranging in size from 75 to over 200 feet (23 to over 60 meters). Gen-Kleen systems are available for generators from 5 kW and above.
A recent enhancement is a compact control panel (pictured right) to better accommodate the limited space in most engine rooms. Also, an integral pressure transmitter in the reservoir is now hard wired to the control panel to improve the reliability and integrity of the system.

The Centek Vernalift™ muffler (pictured left) was originally manufactured for small auxiliary propulsion engines installed near or below the water line in sailboats.
